"I find myself intrigued and consumed by that which is embodied in the term whakapapa.
Concepts, kin connections, animate and inanimate, known and unknown are revealed through exploration.
A multi-dimensional woven map that helps locate our conscious and physical self."
In this sense I personally feel uncomfortable with the idea of ‘I’ the individual artist creating original works of art.
I am more comfortable with the concept of ‘ we’, mutual reciprocity extending beyond the bounds of just the human world and into the taiao (natural world) which provides not just the inspiration but also the means.
